Dear Members and Friends of the KBIA Community,
For summer 2011, there are many new additions to the classes at KBIA in addition to traditional favorites like woodworking with Tony and Nature with Melissa. Due to the high demand last summer for our morning bundling option, we are expanding our bundling to the afternoons. Our art classes will be expanded and a number of classes will be taught by Heartwood College professors. Due to demand, the number of kayaking sections will expand and we will offer a longer trip for our more experienced paddlers.
We hope you will consider joining KBIA in 2011. Membership fees remain a crucial element to maintaining operational breakeven, allowing us to provide local scholarships, and keeping the cost of classes down. Members of any age are allowed to participate in the Open Sails and other social events at KBIA.
We have added a space on the membership form for contributions towards the 100th Capital Campaign. We ask that you consider making a donation to the 100th Capital Campaign even if you chose not to become a member. Membership fees are used to support KBIA in the year that they are given and 100th Capital Campaign donations help secure KBIA’s future; both are important As the success of the campaign will be measured not only in the total amount raised, but by the number of families that participate, I want to encourage you to donate if you haven’t already done so.
By now you should have received the President’s letter from Dave Stevenson. It details all the exciting things we’re planning to make KBIA’s upcoming season as memorable as the last. Surpassing the 100th season won’t be easy but we plan on doing our best. The new pool certainly has us off to a good start! The President’s letter and other 2011 season news can also be found on www.kbia.net.
Sincerely,
Martin Lodish
