Martin Lodish Martin Lodish is a distinguished educational professional who has led a highly successful career in academia. Since he graduated college in 1990, he has taught and worked at independent schools, building an extensive background in recruiting and supervising faculty and creating successful institutional programs. In addition to being KBIA's Executive Director since 2009, Martin is an administrator at Breakwater School, a small progressive PK-8 independent school located in Portland. Martin began his academic career at The Hill School, a private preparatory school in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. During his 15 years at The Hill School, Martin taught chemistry and physics and was the Chairman of the Science Department. In 2001 he participated in a teacher exchange year as Instructor of Physics at Charterhouse in Surrey, England. He also coached the boys lacrosse team as well as soccer for both the girls and boys teams at The Hill School. In 2005, Martin accepted the position of Academic Dean at Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine. Bridgton Academy is the nation's only preparatory school where the student body is composed entirely of post-graduate students. Martin was responsible for managing the teaching faculty, supervising the instruction of the student body and overseeing the school's scheduling process. After graduating from Haverford College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, Martin received his Master's Degree in Education in Chemistry from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. A long-time Maine vacationer, Martin and his family decided to make it their permanent home in 2005. Martin, his wife Kristin, and their three children, Sophia, Josh, and Tobias, reside in Portland. Martin's interests and hobbies include traveling and hiking -- he's also an avid Red Sox fan. |

Mimi Meserve
Program Administrator, KBIA
Mimi comes to KBIA with vast experience working with children. She is a former drama teacher at Kennebunk High School where she taught elective English. She taught K-12 Drama on Vinalhaven Island, and has been in charge of numerous local productions at both schools. Mimi is a native of Kennebunk and returned to Maine after completing her BFA in Theater at NYU's Tisch School for the Arts and the City University of New York-Brooklyn College. She returned to New York City last fall for graduate school after teaching in Maine for four years. She just finished her first year at NYU’s Performing Arts Administration program while she also interned in the finance department of The Public Theater known for its productions of Shakespeare in the Park at Central Park’s Delacourt Theater. Mimi is in charge of registration and communications with members.

A Kennebunk resident, Laura joins KBIA as its new Communication & Event Coordinator. At KBIA, she is responsible for writing and updating written and web communications, maintaining the photo archive, and helping organize KBIA's many special events and activities. After four years at the University of New Hampshire, Laura has spent the last 16 years in community journalism, currently serving as Features Editor for the York County Coast Star and The York Weekly. When not sewing costumes or sports banners, she is cheering on her kids from the sidelines and renovating her 1880s home. She also enjoys photography and adventures with her family, which includes Sophie, Charlie and husband Lindsay.
